Becerra Family Therapy

Hi there, and thank you for looking at my page.  If you are here, it’s because you are ready to start the work. One thing I know for sure is that there is always an opportunity to repair your heart. I have many years of experience in the mental health field, as a psychotherapist and now as a clinical supervisor. I’m an expert in trauma and what I have learned in this beautiful field is that regardless of the trauma, or negative experience you have faced, there is a way to transition away from the pain. Sometimes we need help getting to a place where joy is the order of the day, and that is where I come in.

About me:
I’m a creative person who is bi-cultural and bilingual (Spanish and English). I’m also a spouse, a mother and an avid learner. Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Art Therapist (LMFT, ATR). I love to travel, hike, paint, craft and enjoy spending most of my time with great friends and family. I believe that being a psychotherapist is a calling, and I’m grateful that I get to meet with my clients every week.

Experience:
I have been in the mental health field for over 20 years in different roles. Most recently, I have worked in community mental health with children and adolescents. I’ve had the honor to supervise many therapists and continue to do so. I am trained in Psychodynamic Therapy and use Object Relations as a base. However, I am trained in different evidence-based programs such as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Triple P Parenting Program 4 and 5, and EMDR. I have also facilitated parenting groups for CIFC, and groups for people with Dementia and caregivers at OPICA.

Population:
I have extensive experience with POC, LGBTQIA+, Depression, Anxiety and PTSD.
